Our Founder
Robert J. Nicholson
Robert J. Nicholson founded Safe and Secure Healthcare in 2011 inspired by his relationships volunteering to serve two friends, Eric and Jeff, whose passion for American Presidents and James Bond films, respectively, changed the way he saw the world. Nicholson previously co-founded a home healthcare company in Northeastern Ohio in 2001. He also founded an adult day workshop serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities program in 2009 and a school for children with autism in 2011.
Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business bestowed a bachelor’s degree upon Nicholson in 2009. He graduated from Howland High School of Warren, Ohio in 1998. While at Ohio State University, Nicholson received the Pacesetter award, and was a member of Sphinx, Sigma Phi Epsilon, and served as President of the Business Builders Club where he founded the Idea Pitch Competition. He served as the Chairman of the Dean's Leadership Conference in 2009 which took its student participants through the adventure of starting their own company and led Ohio State to first place in the Big Ten Case Championship. The Business Honors Learning Community named Nicholson their Mentor of the Year in 2008. Nicholson completed his Masters in Business Administration from Babson College in 2022.
Nicholson has served as an advisor to the United States Chamber of Commerce Center for Entrepreneurship, Ohio State’s Fisher College of Business Center for Entrepreneurship, John Hopkins Social Innovation Board, Downtown Las Vegas’ Catalyst Board, and has been featured in the press by the Small Business Advisory Council, the Upstart Business Journal, All Business: Small Business Advantage, and many more.
Nicholson has also worked as a startup business consultant who helps people accomplish their dreams of owning their own companies. Nicholson has also worked with family-owned businesses and businesses experiencing rapid growth. Nicholson founded startups such as the Marketplace Café in Downtown Bellefontaine, Ohio a fast-casual breakfast and lunch restaurant serving delicious and nutritious meals to fans of great food. Nicholson also helped in numerous capacities in the following businesses: Midway Speedway a racetrack in Ohio, Delaware Family Eyecare, Iron City Sports Bar, Ohio Lumber, ZipZag Rides, SUMBA, Blue Mountain Attractions, Kreative Days Learning Center, Shepherd of All God's Children Learning Center, 600 Downtown, and many more.
Nicholson is an accomplished speaker who has shared his story as a social entrepreneur at the Midwestern Governors Association sponsored by Terry Branstad, Governor of Iowa, the Midwestern Entrepreneurs Conference in Omaha, Nebraska, the Sacramento Global Entrepreneurs Week, and with thousands of high school and college students at universities like Cal, Georgetown, University of Wisconsin, Ohio State University, and many additional colleges across the United States with the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour.
